He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel and Mittie Shelton NeSmith of Cochran; his daughter Linda Leigh NeSmith; and his siblings, Rubye, Jimmy and Buddy.

He is survived by: his wife June NeSmith of Ocilla; his children, GinnyAnne Lipscomb (Lee) of Vidalia and Willis NeSmith (Beth) of Lyons; his grandchildren, Kara Martin (Jamie) of Vidalia, Daniel NeSmith (Brandy) of Watkinsville, Kyle Lipscomb (Kelsey McLelland) of Mooresville, NC, Will NeSmith and Sam NeSmith of Lyons; and his great grandchildren, Brinson, Laney, Harper, Micah, Jay and Sally.
