He was predeceased by: his wife Nelda Beckum Garrett; his parents, Delma Franklin Garrett and Jocey Lee Poole Garrett; and his siblings, Gilbert Garrett, Margaret Garrett McDonald, Juanita Garrett Braddy, Dean Garrett, Cecil Garrett and Ann Garrett.
He is survived by: his children, Catherin Garrett Doner (Scott) of Bentonville, Chris Garrett (Marcie) of Vidalia and Cindy Garrett Ricks (Brantley) of Lyons; his grandchildren, Anna Doner (Matt Davis) of Quincy, Wesley Ricks of Lyons and Erin Ricks of Lyons; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Garrett of New Branch Community, Vicki Moseley (Kenny) of Soperton and Bobby Beckum (Ann) of Santa Claus. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home (310 North St W, Vidalia, GA 30475). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
