She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Lewis (Veal) and Georgia Matilda Bowers Veal; and her sisters, Martha Veal Ballenger, Willie Veal Parker, Mary Nell Veal Stewart and Carolyn Veal Carter.
She is survived by: her sons, Bruce Durden (Sarah) of Statesboro and Glenn Durden (Karon) of Vidalia; her grandchildren, Heath Browning, Cassie Neal (Jody), Cameron Durden (Anna), Eric Durden (Allender) and Hope Hall (Bo); and her caregivers, Irene Williams, Jean Phillips, Flo Ashley, Romie Knight, Paulette Day and Ira Woods. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
