He was predeceased by : his parents, Omer Cleveland Howell and Martha Peavy Howell; and his grandparents, Linton Cleveland Howell, Zora Smith Howell, Robert Andrew Peavy and Daisy Holland Peavy.

He is survived by : his cousins, Cleveland Burkhalter, Susan Nettles (Chris), Connie Deal (Jimmy), Sandra Lowery, Eric Peavy, Betty Peavy and Lane Nelson (Marian); and his caregiver Nan Johnson.
