She was predeceased by: her parents, Dennis McClain and Maggie McClain; and her sons, Willie McClain (Bo) and Melvin Somerset. She is survived by: her children, Maggie Von Jacobs (Donald), Kenneth Anthony Somerset (Caroline), David Walter Somerset (Sharon) and Danny T. Thornton (Veeda); her sister Alice Hamilton; her niece Ernestine Horne; and her nephew Paul Horne. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home (211 W Liberty Ave, Lyons, GA 30436). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church (2038 McGregor-Alston Rd, Ailey, GA 30410).
