He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Joseph E. Wages, Farrah Hopkins Wages, Earl A. McClung and Edna Fuller McClung; his uncle Douglas V. McClung; and his aunt Agatha F. McClung.

He is survived by: his parents, Jerry Kenneth Wages and Rebecca "Becky" McClung Wages of Watkinsville, Georgia.; his sister Alison L. Wages of Athens; and his aunts and uncles, Randall E. Wages of Albany, Tony D. Wages of Athens, Susan C. Wages of Albany and Brenda M. Cleveland of Athens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Jimmy V Foundation.
