He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl and Winnie Mae; and his wife Joyce Bonnie Harris. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Mahaffey (Jerry) and Marty Harris; his granddaughter Carrie Kennedy (Robert); his great grandchildren, Hunter and Carysn Kennedy; and his caregiver Kay Hall.
