He is survived by: his wife Harriett Murphey Durkee; his sons, Thaddeus Stephen Durkee (Debbie) and Stephen Murphey Durkee (Katie); his grandchildren, MacLaren Anne Durkee, Caroline Murphey Durkee, Stephen Murphey Durkee Jr. and Sara Kate Durkee; his sister Ann Carstarphen (Tee); his nieces and nephews, Kem Carstarphen, Lynn Carstarphen, Kathryn Heard Rogers, Milton Heard (Laura) and Michael Heard (Terrie); his great-niece Taylor Carstarphen of Atlanta; and his sister-in-law Sally Murphey Heard (Bill Wheeler).
