He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Whitaker Young and William Lafayette Young; and his brother Hal "Big Dog" Young. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Watkins Young of Macon; his children, Richard Young (Allison) of Macon, GA and Drew Young (Della) of Auburn, AL; and his grandchildren, Whit Young, Thomas Young (Alyssa) and Andrew Young (Nikki).
