She is survived by: her children, Dezanne Tharpe, Ellen Tharpe Lee (late Dennis), Oscar Tharpe, Jr. (Linda), Rennazo Tharpe and Hamartrya Tharpe, Sr. (Carrie); and her grandchildren, Bettina Sealey (Zizwe), Cecilia Lee, Sabrina Lee, Desmond Brown, Danny Brown, Jr. (Erika), Deja Wells (Vernon), Tierra Tharpe, Vacarro Tharpe, Briana Tharpe, Hamartrya Tharpe, Jr. and Isabella Tharpe. She is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
