He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Warren and Betty Joyce Shields; and his siblings, Jimmy Warren Shields and Vicki Diane Shields. He is survived by: his sons, John David Shields (Stephanie), Richard Jason Strom (Valerie) and Daniel Shields; his grandchildren, Kirstyn Arianna, Kaelyn Victoria, Karleigh Marie, John Nolan, Ashley Marga-Rebecca, Angel Louis, Sara Joann, Paisley Brianne, Makayla Elizabeth Joyce and Daniel Joseph; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Atlas and Azure; and his brother Richard Alan Shields.
