He was predeceased by: his parents, R. H. McDaniel and Ruth McDaniel. He is survived by: his wife Donna-Day Massey McDaniel of Macon; his children, D. L. "Bo" McDaniel Jr. of Memphis, Madalyn McDaniel McDuffie (Jason) of Forsyth, Georgia and Jessica McDaniel of Macon; his grandchildren, Colin McDaniel, Noah McDaniel, Zoe McDaniel, Max McDaniel, Adeline McDuffie, Pierson McDuffie and Sarah Channing McDuffie; his sister Dale Watts (John) of Macon; and his sisters-in-law, Marlys Marcinski of Port St and Carlyn Massey of Santa Fe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Ingleside Baptist Church (834 Wimbish Rd, Macon, GA 31210).
