He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennett Edward Payne, Jr. and Betty Ruth Dean Payne; and his brothers, Cleveland Payne and Travis Payne. He is survived by: his wife Carol Payne of Macon; his children, Laurie Nolan (Walker) of Cumming, Jim Sanders (Jan Green) of Macon and Michael Chapman (Betty) of Ackworth, Georgia; his grandchildren, Emily Shaw (Bo), Will Nolan, Katlyn Sanders, Schylar Chapman and Avery Hertel; his great grandchildren, Kyrie Hardy and Carter Watts; and his stepsister Lisa Powell of Moultrie, Georgia.
