He was predeceased by: his father George Simms of Washington; and his wife Decia Laverne Cook Simms. He is survived by: his son Howard Z. Simms (Dee); and his grandchildren, Grace Simms Martin (Jason) and Zack Simms. He is also survived by several in-laws; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
