He is survived by: his children, Alanna Martinez of Macon and Billy Simmons (Diane) of Hilton Head, SC; his granddaughter Emily Martinez of Macon; his siblings, Mike Simmons (Cheryl), Todd Fitzgibbons (Janice), Susan Abernathy (Greg), Gregg Fitzgibbons (Dee Dee) and Diane Simmons; and his close friend Jimmy Womack. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
