He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bobo Gibson and Oneida Redding Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Brown Gibson of Macon; his children, Jennifer Leigh Gibson Cook (Glenn) of Macon, Dr. Jana Loraine Gibson of Hilton Head and James Louis "Jay" Gibson, Jr. (Jessica) of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Chase Gibson Cook, James Chandler Cook and Reece Gibson Combs; and his siblings, Charles Bobo Gibson, Jr. of Augusta, Brian Gibson of Dearing, Georgia and Jan Gibson Sutton (Al) of Augusta, Georgia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hart's Mortuary (6324 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Northminster Presbyterian Church (565 Wimbish Rd, Macon, GA 31210).
