Jim Layson Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 10, 2021, at the age of 72, Jim Layson of Macon, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jim B. Layson, Sr. and Ernestine Layson; his wife Marsha Powell Layson; his daughters, Amy Leslie (Mark) and Janna Croot (Harley); his grandchildren, Keaton Wood, Connor Wood and Kennedy Wood; and his nieces, Sheree Jones (Keith) and Regina Strickland (John). He was also cherished by two children and later in life, becoming Papa to his three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations please be made in Mr. Layson's honor to Lizella Baptist Church, 2950 S. Lizella Rd, Lizella, GA 31052 or Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210.
