She was predeceased by: her parents, Hilburn Thigpen and Katie Mae Chafin Thigpen; and her husband Donald Freeman Hooker, Sr.. She is survived by: her sons, Donald F. Hooker, Jr., Ronald B. Hooker (Becky Vastakis) and Curtis E. Hooker (Karen); and her grandson Christopher Peterson (Andrea).

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Macon Memorial Park Chapel (3969 Mercer University Dr, Macon, GA 31204). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
