We announce the death of Mattie Y Sharp (Macon, Georgia), who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 95. Mattie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband John D. Sharp; her parents, Robert Yelverton and Burnice Yelverton of Monroe, LA; and her brother Jack E. Yelverton of Baton Rouge, LA.. She is survived by: her children, Linda Sareñana, Don Sharp (Sherry), Karen Smith and Paul Sharp (Kathy); and her grandchildren, Taylor Sareñana (Ashley), Natalie Sareñana Perger (Paul), Paige Jensen, Casi Berry (Jason), Micah Smith (Jackie), Jessica Newberry (Caleb), Shea Sharp, Savannah Sharp and Eric Ottrock. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home (3969 Mercer University Dr, Macon, GA 31204). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the organization of your choice.
