It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nell McElheney Hayes of Macon, Georgia, born in Monticello, Georgia, who passed away on March 23, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Homer McElheney; her husband Emory Coyle "Casey" Hayes; her daughter Ruth "Ruthie" Hayes Smith; and her grandson Logan Hayes Smith. She is survived by: her daughter Cindy Hayes Smith (Wayne); her granddaughters, Leighanna Smith, Kacey Smith and Kristy Ross (Erwin); her great grandchild Alex Ross; and her son-in-law Allen Smith. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
