He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert G. Hooks, Sr. and Elizabeth Tucker Hooks; his wife Martha Harriet Hooks; his grandson Harrison Hooks; his children, Helen Shoptaw (James) of Hazard, Bill Hooks (Deren) of Thomasville and Martha Ann Lord (Rob) of Newnan, Georgia; his grandchildren, James, Robert, Samuel, William Shoptaw, Rachel Lord, Keegan Chilvers, Brayton Hooks, Thomas Chilvers, Adeline Hooks, RJ Lord, Barrett Chilvers and Sonny Lord; and also Beth Whitton (George) of Athens, Georgia..
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Riverside Cemetery (1301 Riverside Dr, Macon, GA 31201).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Athens Y Camp, Tallulah Falls, Georgia.
