He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Spires and Louise Gilbert Spires; and his siblings, Julia Swann, William Spires, Becky Spires, Donald Spires, Elizabeth Spires, Horace Spires and Hugh Spires.
He is survived by: his close friend Randy Flournoy of Macon; his brother Ronnie Spires (Ann) of Macon; and his niece Ann Thompson of Macon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
