He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Mabel Stripling Alston and Thomas K. Alston, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Sybil Smith Alston of Macon; his children, Thomas "Tommy" Kay Alston, III (Cheryl) of Macon, Michael "Todd" Alston of Macon and Shaun Howard (Daren) of Macon; and his grandchildren, Mallory Israel, Emily Birdsong and Sarah Weinstein. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
