He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilary Jernigan and Doris Steel Jernigan; his wife Sueman Tseng Jernigan; and his brothers, Richard Jernigan and John Jernigan.
He is survived by: his children, Gwen Collins (Larry), Carolyn Jernigan, James Jernigan and Warren Anthony Jernigan, Jr.; his grandchildren, Cameron Collins, Carter Collins and Layla Jernigan; and his sister Elaine Moody (Tom).
