He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Copeland Deford and James Samuel Nipper; his wife Dorothy Dolores Hightower; his children, Balinda Duncan, Kathy Edwards and Della Jackson; his grandson Joshua Dykes; and his great grandchild Khloe Grace.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Herin (Geno), Judy Lynaugh (Danny), Jimmy Dykes (Sara) and Pam Mauldin (Joey); and his sister Dottie Gillespie. He is also survived by many grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
