He was predeceased by: his parents, James Euel Lanier and Lenolia Prather Lanier; his wife Shirley Lanier; his son Jay Lanier; and his brother Wesley Lanier.
He is survived by: his grandson Michael Lanier (Miranda); his daughter-in-law Sandy Maxwell; and his brother Bobby Lanier. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
