It is with sadness that the passing of John Edwin Smenner Jr. of Manchester, Georgia is shared. John Edwin, born on October 11, 1938, passed away on September 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edwin Smenner, Sr. and Jean Murray Smenner; and his sister Valerie Szucs. He is survived by: his wife Barbara H. Smenner of Manchester, GA; his sons, John Eugene Smenner (Lisa) of Manchester, GA and Mark Edwin Smenner (Claudia Smenner) of Frisco, TX; his grandchildren, Ridge Alexander Smenner, Nicolas Alan Smenner (Kaitlyn), Remington Storm Smenner and Maria Emma Smenner; and his great grandchild Sadie Jane Smenner. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cox Funeral Home- Manchester (93 Prather Barnes Rd, Manchester, GA 31816). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at the Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Pine Mountain Valley Church of Christ in memory of John Edwin Smenner, Jr.
