It is with sadness that the passing of Anthony Joseph Buttimer (Marietta, Georgia) is shared. Anthony, born on December 19, 1933, passed away on September 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick J. "Toby" Buttimer and Elizabeth Deegan Buttimer; his wife Mary Buttimer; and his siblings, Patrick J, John J, Jimmy, Thomas M, Richard J, Bridget (Betty) and Edward M. Buttimer.
He is survived by: his sister Helen Marie Buttimer; and his children, Dennis (Angela), Mark (Laura), Tony (Beth), Nancy (Garry), Elizabeth (Jimmy), Margaret (Gary), Julianne (Matt), Matthew, Maureen (Mark) and Mary (Mike). He is also survived by 33 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the H. M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel (1157 Old Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30068). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Catholic Church of St. Ann (4905 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30062). A burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery (1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30144).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony's name to St. Vincent de Paul and Cure HHT.
