Though Charles may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marion Abney and Viola Gilstrap Abney; and his brother James Robert Abney (Roddy). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Harper Abney; his son Charles "Chuck" Marion Abney Jr. (Karen); his grandsons, Blake Abney (Mackenzie) and Bryant Abney; his siblings, Brenda Joan Hughes (Gene) and Michael Abney (Carole); and his pet Tanner. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the South Chapel (3002 Maple Rd SE, Rome, GA 30161). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Rome Memorial Park (2446 Cedartown Hwy, Rome, GA 30161).
