He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Charles and Cicely Violet Shakespeare Hoffman; and his brothers, Jon Hoffman and Garth Hoffman. He is survived by: his wife Rose Capaldi Hoffman; his children, Lisa Neavling, Maria Valehrach (Craig Valehrach), Charles David Hoffman, Jr. (Elizabeth Hoffman) and Joanna Boswell (Bryan Boswell); his grandchildren, Christian Hoffman, Niva Hoffman, Olivia Neavling Brunson (Alex Brunson) and Matthew Neavling; and his great grandchildren, Emma and Abigail Brunson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Mayes Ward Dobbins Historic Marietta Chapel (180 Church St, Marietta, GA 30060). A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 27th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
