Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved James David Stokes of Marietta, Georgia, born in Macon, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 81, on April 10, 2024. He was predeceased by : his former life partner Julia Branham Stokes; his son James David Stokes, Jr.; his parents, Jim Stokes and Ruth Reeves Stokes; and his sister Tina Wootan.

He is survived by : his wife Sally Peck Cole of Marietta; his daughter Shannon Stokes Sale (Rick); his grandson James Sale; his daughter Laura Elizabeth Stokes; and his stepsons, Gavin and Patrick Cole. He is also survived by one niece and three nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Presbyterian Church (3003 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta, GA 30327).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Trinity Presbyterian Church or Agape Youth and Family Center, 2210 Marietta Boulevard, Atlanta 30318.
