She was predeceased by: her former husband Harry Whitten; her son Harry "Whit" Whitten; her parents, Katie Durrett and Watson Durrett; and her siblings, Tom, Bill Durrett, Mary Jane Durrett Cheney and Patricia Durrett Fowler.

She is survived by: her husband Wallace Montgomery; her son Brad Whitten; her daughter-in-law Michele Whitten; and her grandchildren, Jonathan, Lindsey and Reese Whitten.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Katherine's name to Marietta.
