He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Lee Chastain and Ruth Wheeler Chastain Wilson; his son Timothy Dwane Chastain (Tim); and his brothers, Billy, Gary and Roger Chastain.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Vera Singley Denman; his wife Gloria Stephens Chastain (Ann); his daughter Gloria Chastain Scranton (Darlene); his son-in-law Pablo Scranton; his grandchildren, Cory Dwane Chastain, Joshua Thomas Sullivan, Taylor Destiny Sullivan Bosnak and Jennifer Cheri Chastain Houston; and his sisters, Joan Chastain Moore Bagley, Tammy Denman Frank and Shelia Denman McGrath. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
