She is survived by: her children, Martin Deines, Olinda Lane, Sandy Nimmons (Bryan), Karen Deines Thomasson, Michael Deines (Cindy), David Deines and Christopher Deines (Vanessa). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and 2great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church (3703 River Watch Pkwy, Martinez, GA 30907). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at the Hillcrest Memorial Park (2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, GA 30906).
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial offerings be made in Gerda's honor to Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Martinez, Georgia, a fitting tribute to a woman whose life was deeply rooted in faith.
