He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Eugene O'Shields and Rosa Miller O'Shields; his wife Barbara Jean McLendon O'Shields; his sons, Coy Webb O'Shields, Jr. and Robert Mitchell O'Shields; his siblings, Johnny O'Shields and Grace Louise Hanley; and his grandson Shaun Jeffrey Whitehead.
He is survived by: his children, James O'Shields (Mary) of Ohio and Rebecca Lynn Whitehead of South Carolina. He is also survived by Five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
