He was predeceased by : his parents, Eugen Eckstein and Anna Seitzer Eckstein; and his sisters, Gretel Brecht, Eugenie Rogers, Hertha Betz and Sigi Grieser.

He is survived by : his children, Terry (Margie Gibbs), Paul (Michelle Eckstein), Debbie (Dennis Peters) and Sharon (Ott Martin); and his sisters, Anneliese Schneider and Karin Frank. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
