He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dotson and Mini Dotson; his wife Emma; and his son-in-law Randy. He is survived by: his children, Sue Roberts, Lavon Ray (Gary), Charles Dotson (Marsha), Kevin Dotson (Wanda) and Beatrice Walker (JR). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Eastlawn Memorial Park (640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252).
He also had the chance to work at the Polio Foundation that was founded by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in Warm Springs, Georgia.
