She was predeceased by: her parents, Ann Barnes Singley and David Stephens Singley; and her brother Ronald David Singley. She is survived by: her husband Buddy Pownall (Henry Frances); her son Matthew Jamie Pownall (Cassie); her grandchildren, Julia Ann Willard (Pownall) and Bailey Elise Pownall; her son Kyle David Pownall (Lisa Nan Pownall); her grandchildren, Rubye Grace Pownall, Della Janice Pownall and Kellen David Pownall; and her sister Joyce Singley Bland. She is also survived by her family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church's Kitchen Remodel Fund in memory of Janice.
