He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Skelton and Maude Cheek Skelton; his former wife Annette Tate Skelton; and his son David Bascom Skelton. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Joyce Fox Skelton of McDonough, GA; and his children, Sue Ann Brooks (Steve) of Portland, OR and Rev. Tim Skelton (Katrina) of Dothan, AL. He is also survived by Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Freedom Baptist Church Mission Fund, 838 South Antioch Road, McDonough, Georgia. 30253.

They always made me feel like part of the family - especially because my name is Skelton too (by marriage!) we both came from the Skelton’s from South Carolina. There was always a hug and kiss (and food!), kind words and love from both of them every time I visited them. James and Nancy loved each other and he will be so missed by all!
