With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Winter of McDonough, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 24, 2025 at the age of 74. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Winter to pay them a last tribute.

As John departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved John. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was predeceased by: his parents, W. C. Winter and Myrtle Winter (Watson); and his wife Lynn Winter (Cornett). He is survived by: his children, Regan Winter and Jay Winter; and his sisters, Carolyn Hawkins and Susie Gardner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Wesley Way Methodist Church (150 John Wesley Way, McDonough, GA 30252). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to a charity of your choice.

“To the family of Johnny, I was introduced thru the Ellenwood gang, but he treated me like he'd known me all of my life. I am so sorry to hear of his passing but grateful to have known him a small part of his and my life. If he ever told you stories about his physical torturer (a.k.a. therapist), they may or may not be true. Rest assured he was treated with the extreme kindness he shared with me.
