She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Phelps and Catherine Ethel Brickman; her stepparents, Anita Turner and Eddie Brickman; her siblings, Dornita Moody and John Phelps; her uncles, Charlie Phelps and Ed Haney; and her aunt Vivian Haney.
She is survived by: her daughter Karen; her son-in-law Ken Cleaver; her grandchildren, Audrey and Nathaniel; her daughter Kristin; her great grandchild Amare Norfleet; her brothers, Mark Phelps, Charlie Phelps and Ted Phelps; and her aunt Judy Phelps. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations, through the St. James website, to the New Beginnings Ministry or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
