He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Fred, Eva Franks and Carolyn P. Brooks; his aunt Michelle Wilson; and his uncle Terry Barnes.

He is survived by: his parents, Rusty Barnes and Wanda Barnes; his sons, Nathan, Brody and Cadyn; his brother Jason (Jessie); his sibling's children, Madison, Kiley and Jake; and his wife Susan Helton. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the Southern Crescent Baptist Church Youth Ministry in memory of Rusty.
