He was predeceased by : his parents, Andrew Spraggins and Imogene Gertrude Johnson Spraggins; his son Joel Dewayne Whittle; and his siblings, William "Butch" Spraggins and Martha Spraggins.

He is survived by : his children, Ronald Lamar Spraggins, Rhonda Michelle Hall and Becky Eaton; and his sisters, Andrea Spraggins and Carolyn Spraggins. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
