Danette Wood Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Danette Wood of Metter, Georgia, who passed away on February 19, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Danette Wood to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Ralph Grotzinger and Ida Myers Grotzinger Kroeze; and her sister Denise M. Odette. She is survived by : her children, Christina Lewis of Roanoke, VA and Jeremiah Lewis (Tia) of Fort Carson, CO; and her siblings, Pete Grotzinger (Joyce) of Omaha, NE, Candace Arrington (Jim) of Tucson, AZ, Sandra Neal of Statesboro, GA and Jeannie Schrader of Statesboro, GA. She is also survived by five grandchildren.

The family will accept flowers but suggests contributions to Regency Southern Care Hospice.

“Danette was spiritual, educated and beautiful. I was blessed to have her as a Aunt/mentor. I am forever grateful for the tutoring she freely gave me to reinstate my license. If it wasn't for Danette I would have never been successful in restoring my nursing career. I truly miss our conversations about Nursing and God. I love you Aunt Danette. I know you and Denise are dancing in the light.”
