He was predeceased by: his parents, Onnie Harper and Leila Collins Harper; his wife Katherine "Kitty" Shaw Harper; his son Everett Earl Harper; and his siblings, Warren, William, Larry Harper, Willene Duggan, Mildred Bragg, Lexi Coston, Thelma Edenfield and Lucille Gillerpie.
He is survived by: his son Edgar Harper; and his grandchildren, Katie Harper Johnson (Dwight) and Douglas Mincey (Amanda). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
