It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Boyd Rackley of Metter, Georgia, who passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Janet Boyd departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Janet Boyd. Though Janet Boyd may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Boyd and Peggy Kemp Boyd; and her husband James Randall Rackley. She is survived by: her sons, Tommy Graham of Newington, GA, Timmy Graham (Marcy) of Kildare, GA, Randall Rackley (Meagen) of Texarkana, TX and Neil Rackley of Spring City, TN; her stepsons, Jimmy Rackley of Savannah, GA and Rex Rackley (Cindy) of Pooler, GA; her brother Donnie Boyd (Lawanda) of Waynesboro, GA; and her close friends, Jeraleene Finch and Brenda Godbee. She is also survived by 7 grandsons, and 3 great-grandsons; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
