Joann Thompson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joann Thompson of Metter, Georgia, born in Walterboro, South Carolina, who passed away on May 25, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Olen Strickland and Ruth Crosby Strickland; her children, Aubrey Thompson and Diane Fleming; and her siblings, Arnold Strickland, Odean Strickland, Willie Strickland, Dorothy "Dot" Rogers and Barbara Ann Lyles.

She is survived by: her children, Bonnie, Doug Tyson of Metter, Cheryl, Forrest Conder of Register and Jean Thompson of Walterboro; and her sister Betty Ruth Sparks of Walterboro. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to The Journey House in Claxton, Georgia.
