We bid farewell to Martha Rushing (Metter, Georgia), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 6, 2025 at the age of 92. Martha touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Matthew Miles and Bertha Mae Prosser; her husband Carrol Brooks Rushing; her brothers, Herman and John Miles; her daughter Hilda Houle; her son-in-law Patrick Houle; and her great grandchild Elena Luckett.
She is survived by: her daughter Dianne Luckett (Lee Luckett); her grandchildren, Brooks Alan Luckett (Amy) of Glen Ellyn, IL, Leann Luckett Miller (Donald) of Roseville, CA, Lisa Luckett Blount (Bill) of Statesboro, GA., Tammi Laurie Henderson of Pulaski, GA and Joseph Christopher Houle of Pulaski, GA.; and her great grandchildren, Savannah Woodard, Leo Blount, Caroline Blount, Matthew Luckett and Andrew Luckett.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Kennedy Funeral Home - Hooks Chapel (223 SW Broad St, Metter, GA 30439). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Ogeechee Area Hospice.
