He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Cannon and Jeanette Green Lewis; his brother Dannell Thomas Cannon; and his uncle David Thomas Green (Fannie Sue) of Stillmore. He is survived by: his wife Melinda Hall Cannon of Metter; his sons, Wayne Cannon, Jr. (Stacie Marie) of Metter and Ronny Cannon (Emily S. Cannon) of Richmond Hill; his grandchildren, Keith Dunford, Ransley Cannon, Leland Petitt, Charlie Cannon and Chandler Cannon; his sisters, Pam Earls of Metter, Sandra Lewis of Marietta and Dana Joy Lewis of Metter; his uncle Jerry W. Green (Linda) of Alabama; and his aunts, Jane Hardy and Patty Cockman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Family Home.
