She was predeceased by: her parents, James Brady Kite and Ethel Louise Jenkins; her husband Paul McKinley Shellnutt, Jr.; her siblings, Brady Lamar Kite, Ronald "Pete" Kite, Douglas Kite and Wonda Bright; and her siblings-in-law, Judy Ware and Tommy Shellnutt.
She is survived by: her children, John Paul Shellnutt and Joy Shellnutt; her siblings, Donnie Kite, Sally Hargrave, Georgette Stewart, Charlotte Yarbrough (Wayne) and Cynthia Kay; her sisters-in-law, Linda Cox, Patty Newsome and Joan Pierce; and her caregivers, Korena Tucker, Sharon Manns, John and Cherry Arthur.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel (142 Southland Rd, Americus, GA 31709). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rehoboth Baptist Church (422 GA-49 S, Americus, GA 31719). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Park Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church in Jeanell's memory.
